Pause Playback mode doesn't do anything when I click hold.

Pause Playback sends a system media key and needs Accessibility access to do so. Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility and make sure OnHold is enabled. Lower Volume mode works without any permissions.

What's the difference between Pause Playback and Lower Volume?

Pause Playback toggles play/pause for whatever app is currently playing, and also pauses Music and Spotify directly. Lower Volume instead drops your system output volume to a preset level and restores it when you release hold, useful for muting everything at once, including browser tabs and call audio.

My custom keyboard shortcut isn't working.

If the shortcut you recorded matches a built-in macOS shortcut, OnHold will warn you and link to the Keyboard settings pane so you can resolve the conflict. Choose a combination that isn't already in use.

The hot corner doesn't trigger hold.

Hot corners are off by default. If you've assigned the same corner to another action in System Settings → Desktop & Dock → Hot Corners, that action will take priority. OnHold shows a one-time warning if it detects an overlap.

OnHold doesn't appear in my menu bar after installing.

Make sure the app is installed in /Applications. If you see a security warning on first launch, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway.

How do I uninstall OnHold?

First, disable Start at Login from the menu if it's enabled. Then drag OnHold.app from /Applications to the Trash. No other files are created outside the app bundle.

Does OnHold connect to the internet?

No. OnHold runs entirely on-device and makes no network requests.

Pauzeer afspelen stuurt een systeem media-toets en heeft daarvoor Toegankelijkheidstoegang nodig. Ga naar Systeeminstellingen → Privacy & beveiliging → Toegankelijkheid en zorg dat OnHold is ingeschakeld. Verlaag volume werkt zonder machtigingen.

Wat is het verschil tussen Pauzeer afspelen en Verlaag volume?

Pauzeer afspelen schakelt afspelen/pauzeren voor de actieve app, en pauzeert daarnaast Music en Spotify direct. Verlaag volume verlaagt in plaats daarvan het systeemvolume naar een vooraf ingesteld niveau en herstelt dit zodra je hold opheft, handig om alles in één keer te dempen, inclusief browsertabs en gespreksaudio.

Mijn eigen toetsencombinatie werkt niet.

Als de combinatie die je hebt vastgelegd overeenkomt met een ingebouwde macOS-snelkoppeling, waarschuwt OnHold je en verwijst naar het instellingenpaneel Toetsenbord om het conflict op te lossen. Kies een combinatie die nog niet in gebruik is.

De hoek-activering activeert hold niet.

Hoek-activering staat standaard uit. Als je dezelfde hoek hebt toegewezen aan een andere actie in Systeeminstellingen → Bureaublad & Dock → Hoekfuncties, heeft die actie voorrang. OnHold toont eenmalig een waarschuwing bij een overlap.

OnHold verschijnt niet in mijn menubalk na installatie.

Zorg ervoor dat de app is geïnstalleerd in /Programma's. Als je een beveiligingswaarschuwing ziet bij de eerste start, ga dan naar Systeeminstellingen → Privacy & beveiliging en klik op Toch openen.

Hoe verwijder ik OnHold?

Schakel eerst Starten bij inloggen uit via het menu indien ingeschakeld. Sleep daarna OnHold.app vanuit /Programma's naar de prullenmand. Buiten het app-pakket worden geen andere bestanden aangemaakt.

Maakt OnHold verbinding met het internet?

Nee. OnHold werkt volledig op het apparaat zelf en doet geen netwerkverzoeken.
