Chalk Up does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. Everything happens locally on your device.
What Chalk Up does
Chalk Up is an interval timer for functional fitness. It runs AMRAP, For Time, EMOM and Tabata workouts, as well as custom sequences that chain several of those together, and sounds audio cues at the points you choose. That is the whole of it.
Data we do not collect
- No personal information of any kind
- No usage analytics or telemetry
- No crash reports sent to external servers
- No health or fitness data, and no connection to Apple Health
- No advertising identifiers, and no advertising of any kind
- No account or registration required
Local storage only
Your saved favorites and your settings, meaning the lead-in length, which cues are on, the sound pack, the volume and the keep-awake preference, are stored locally on your device. This data never leaves your iPhone and is never transmitted anywhere. Deleting the app deletes it.
System permissions used
- Audio playback: Chalk Up plays its cue tones through the standard iOS audio session, configured to mix with other audio so your music keeps playing. It does not access the microphone and never records or transmits sound.
- Background audio: the app declares the audio background mode so cues keep sounding with the app in the background and the screen locked. This is used only to play the cues you configured.
- Screen wake lock: optionally keeps the screen awake during a workout. This is a display setting and involves no data.
Chalk Up asks for no permission prompts at all. It does not request access to your location, contacts, photos, microphone, camera, notifications, or health data.
Internet connectivity
Chalk Up does not make any network requests. It has no internet access requirements and does not communicate with any external server. It works with the phone in airplane mode.
Third parties
Chalk Up does not integrate with any third-party SDKs, analytics services, or advertising networks. There are none in the app, and there will not be.
Purchases
Chalk Up is a one-time paid app with no in-app purchases and no subscription. Payment is handled entirely by Apple, and we never see your payment details.
Children
Chalk Up does not collect data from anyone, including children.

Gegevens die we niet verzamelen
- Geen persoonsgegevens, in welke vorm dan ook
- Geen gebruiksstatistieken of telemetrie
- Geen crashrapporten naar externe servers
- Geen gezondheids- of fitnessgegevens, en geen koppeling met Apple Health
- Geen advertentie-identificatiegegevens, en geen advertenties van welke soort dan ook
- Geen account of registratie nodig
Alleen lokale opslag
Je bewaarde favorieten en je instellingen, dus de lengte van de aftelling, welke signalen aanstaan, het geluidspakket, het volume en of het scherm aanblijft, staan lokaal op je toestel. Deze gegevens verlaten je iPhone nooit en worden nergens naartoe gestuurd. Verwijder je de app, dan zijn ze weg.
Gebruikte systeemmachtigingen
- Audio afspelen: Chalk Up speelt zijn signalen af via de standaard audiosessie van iOS, ingesteld om te mengen met andere audio zodat je muziek doorspeelt. De app gebruikt de microfoon niet en neemt nooit geluid op of verstuurt het.
- Achtergrondaudio: de app declareert de audio-achtergrondmodus zodat signalen blijven klinken met de app op de achtergrond en het scherm op slot. Dit wordt alleen gebruikt om de door jou ingestelde signalen af te spelen.
- Scherm wakker houden: houdt het scherm optioneel aan tijdens een workout. Dit is een weergave-instelling en raakt geen gegevens.
Chalk Up vraagt helemaal geen toestemmingen. De app vraagt geen toegang tot je locatie, contacten, foto's, microfoon, camera, meldingen of gezondheidsgegevens.
Internetverbinding
Chalk Up doet geen enkel netwerkverzoek. De app heeft geen internettoegang nodig en communiceert met geen enkele externe server. Hij werkt met je telefoon in vliegtuigmodus.
Derden
Chalk Up gebruikt geen SDK's van derden, geen analysediensten en geen advertentienetwerken. Ze zitten er niet in, en ze komen er niet in.
Aankopen
Chalk Up is een eenmalig betaalde app zonder in-app aankopen en zonder abonnement. De betaling verloopt volledig via Apple, en wij zien je betaalgegevens nooit.
Kinderen
Chalk Up verzamelt van niemand gegevens, ook niet van kinderen.
